Missing Army General: Taraba State government evacuates 383 students from Jos

The Special Adviser to Taraba State Governor on Student Affairs, Samson Tor-Musa, has revealed that a total of 383 indigenes of Taraba state studying in the University of Jos have been evacuated by the state government and reunited with their families.

The action, according to Tor-Musa, followed outcry by the students over their safety in the institution; when renewed killings claimed the life of a student.

According to him, the discovery of the car belonging to the missing retired Army General in Jos led to the escalation of tension into the University.

He said: “The pond where the car of the missing Army General was found is located close to one of the University Village (hostels), so there was tension following the incident. We were able to evacuate 383 out of 423 students from the state, because some left on their own before we got to Jos.”

House of Assembly member shot by unknown gunmen in Ekiti

A member of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr. Michael Adedeji, is now battling between life and death after being shot in the head by unknown gunmen. According to The Nation, Adedeji was waylaid in the early hours of Friday while traveling along Ikere-Akure Road by the gunmen who opened fire as he made an attempt to escape from the scene. Fayose provides food, lawyers for EFCC detainees, others

Former Governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose, has provided food for over 150 detainees of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Fayose also secured lawyers for detainees in need of legal representation and also promised to assist those having challenges in meeting their bail conditions. This was made known in a post on Twitter via his official handle being managed by his new media aide, Lere Olayinka. The former Governor had earlier announced that his Twitter account will be handled by his new media aide, Lere Olayinka.
