#NotTooYoungToRun Bill records success in Osun

The #NotTooToRunBill recently signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari has recorded another success, as Comrade Pelumi Olajengbesi, a human rights activist and former University of Abuja(UniAbuja) Students Union Government (SUG) President, has emerged the House of Assembly candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oriade Constituency, Osun State.

According to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Olajengbesi, who initially indicated interest to run for the House of Representatives, Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency was picked for House of Assembly as the party resolved political interests amongst all the contenders. Olajengbesi, 32, is a lawyer and a public interest advocate with several commentaries on socio-political ills and anecdotes for better governance.

His foray into politics follows closely on the heels of his brushes with state and federal authorities over his keen criticism of the abuse of power and corruption. Together with other activists, he led a popular youth movement, #YouthLeadNigeria that gave impetus to the #NotYoungToRun bill that has long encouraged the participation of youths in Nigerian politics. Olajengbesi is also the Convener, Office of the Citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria(OCFRN).

Lawyer begs EFCC, AGF, others for intervention in alleged fraud

An Abuja based legal practitioner and Managing Partner, Cosmic Legal Consult, Barrister Ifeanyi Cosmas Mamah, has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) over “the defrauding of unsuspecting Nigerians by alleged fraudsters operating a fraudulent online ponzi scheme known as myBONUS, with the alleged connivance of a microfinance bank, Kuda Microfinance Bank Ltd, headquartered in Lagos”. Ebonyi activists petition Adenuga over "negative" Glo advert

Three Ebonyi born social activists have petitioned Global Communication Limited, a telecommunication giant with brand name as ‘Globacom’ over alleged offensive advert running on televisions and other electronic devices. The activists, Messrs Innocent Onu, Inya Richard and Christian Ogba in the petition urged Globacom to immediately stop the alleged offensive advert which they claimed portrayed Ebonyi negatively from being aired on televisions and other visual electronic devices. The petition which was made available to newsmen in Abakaliki on Sunday was dated April 27, 2019 and was addressed to Chief Mike Adenuga, owner of Globacom Nigeria.
